Research like Batman

So you're Batman and you just got a lead on a major investigation and you need to know his/her's next move. You need information and the best way to get information for anything is to research.
Cool place to research...am I right?
1. Know your topic. Be specific. If your going after a mob it would be a waste of time to research each member of the mob being only a one person. It would be smart to zero in on the leader( or leaders) of this mob. You could also be doing a research article on food and zero in on chicken. It's the simple rule of quality over quantity.
2. Use reliable resources. Although many people criticize Wikipedia for not being reliable the truth is that it has administrators who check many of the articles everyday so that the articles STAY up to date. Now people may say that there aren't enough of them to monitor each article everyday but not many people have a real drive to change Wikipedia articles to be inaccurate. Most published work in books are extremely reliable(as it takes a lot of effort to publish a book) just make sure it's up to date(no longer than 5 maybe 10 years old.)
3. Keep a research journal. Write down EVERYTHING that you:
A. Haven't read, heard, or seen before.
B. Important facts, methods, etc.
C. Your thoughts and conclusions made on the topic.
Remember to keep it organized with bullet points, lists, etc. Keep this journal as a reference guide to whatever your planning on doing because without reference research really isn't worth anything.
